Ever since I was a little girl, I knew in my heart that writing has always been my passion. Though I know I am not really good at it, I still make time to pen down my thoughts, emotions, and ideas. I always believe in the power of written words. And now that I am an adult, I still do write and have levelled it up. Unlike before, I usually just write in a notebook and keep it for my own eyes, now I do blog. I publish my posts in many sites which some of it are my own.
And you know what? You can also blog! I believe that you have stories and ideas which are meant to be written and published. You have a message that is meant to be shared.

I am going to show you how to start your own blog and monetize it. I have been creating and designing blogs since 2009. In that span of time, I have launched several of my own blogs and have helped several bloggers create, design and earn from their blogs at the same time.
I know that starting a blog can be intimidating and overwhelming. That is why I published this post to help beginners who want to start a blog but do not know what to do.
To be really honest, I made a lot of mistakes when I was just starting. And by reading this post, you can benefit from more than a decade of my experience, so you won’t have to encounter the same mistakes when you start your blog.

What is a Blog
According to Wikipedia:
“A blog is a discussion or informational website published on the World Wide Web consisting of discrete, often informal diary-style text entries.”
To make it simple, a blog is something like this. A piece of content which can be read in the world wide web (a.ka. Internet)

How to Start a Blog
1. Pick a blog name. Then, decide what domain to use.
2. Choose a hosting provider. Then, register your domain.
3. Install WordPress. I personally recommend installing and using WordPress for your blog because it is very user and SEO friendly.
4. Customize your blog. There are plenty of free blog themes that you can install. But, be aware that free themes have limitations unlike when you buy premium themes.
5.Write & publish your first post. The most exciting and fun part!
6.Promote your blog. Get more people to read your blog.
7. Make money blogging. There are different ways on how to make money blogging. You can choose to use affiliate links, sponsorship, creating your own products or thru ads.
For ads, I use Google Adsense to serve ads on my blogs.
How to apply for Google Adsense
I know there are lots of bloggers out there who want to monetize their blog using Google Adsense, but do not know. Or, some got rejected and lost the confidence to try again.
With that, here’s a detailed and simple guide so you can be sure that your application will be approved by Google Adsense.
- Sign up in Google Adsense using an existing Gmail account if you already have. Or, you may sign up for a new one first.
- Enter the URL or domain of your site which you want Google Adsense to be approved for.
- Wait for Google Adsense reply whether you site is approved or not.
To make sure your application doesn’t get rejected, be sure that:
- You have at least 5 pages and 5 posts published with at least 500 words each.
- Make sure your Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions page are present in your site.
- Your site must be user-friendly, responsive in different screens and has complete identity like Logo.
- Your blog should use a theme that has clear functionality and design.
- Place the script ads on content with at least 500 words.
